Employment History OptiComp in Zephyr Cove, NV – Embedded Systems Engineer - 2008 to 2010 Responsibilities included lead of the Embedded Systems team; Design hardware and firmware for multi-channel +40Gb/s electrical to optical transceiver’s embedded Digital Diagnostic Transceiver Controller (DDTC) using SiLabs 8051 MCU (IAR, SDCC, Keil) for compliance to MSA DDMI specifications and also developed custom specification for OptiComp’s multi-channel transceiver configurations; Designed schematics and circuit layouts (OrCAD capture & PCB Editor) for in-house firmware development and test platforms, Implemented network protocol (RapidIO, Ethernet, PCIe) test and demonstration platforms using FPGA’s (Xilinx Virtex-5) with multi-gigabit SERDES (GTP, GTX); Architected logic for RapidIO switch/router for satellite plug-n-play applications (SPA); developed reusable PHY layer IP (Verilog); Design compliance for airborne systems; Conducted heavy-ion exposure test for satellite electronics applications (U.C. PC Express in Eden Prairie, MN – Computer Engineering Intern - 1994 Responsibilities included evaluation and testing of PC hardware components, such as video cards and motherboards, calculating power supply requirements and making recommendations for new product offerings. Also assisted with the troubleshooting and repair of computers.
